CDI has an exciting document control position available ASAP in our client site in Bay City, TX. Duties and responsibilities are as follows:

SUMMARY:
Assist in the processing and/or reproduction of engineering and construction documents to insure accuracy and timely release. Assists in maintaining a comprehensive filing system and computer database for all documents to be retained in the document control center with supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:include the following.

Completes work according to standard procedures on assignments from multiple sources (project managers, design team leaders, group managers, designers and engineers).
Assignments are completed efficiently and on time.
Ensures quality for completed personal work assignments.
Organizes and maintains project files.
May operate reproduction equipment such as blueprint, high-speed copiers, offset devices, etc. to produce legible documents.
Operates equipment, i.e. padding machine, binding, paper cutter to produce document packages per instructions from requestor.
Perform clerical typing duties to generate documents as necessary.
Assist in preparing/maintaining up-to-date control records documenting receipt of service requests, document and revision numbers, original distribution, revised distributions and transmittal dates
Reports to the Senior Document Control Clerk for team or group assignment and determination of standards.
Receives direction and/or work from other managers/supervisors.
Accommodates needs from all employees for file management and document processing.
Works pursuant to direction in a consistent manner according to established procedures.
May require direction to appropriately accommodate new circumstances.
Has basic knowledge of engineering, construction and process terminology.
Uses the following office equipment, such as PCs, printers, typewriters, fax machines, copiers, telephone equipment, and various other office machines to complete work.

QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school graduate or equivalent with an emphasis on basic secretarial, math and English courses and a minimum of one year work experience in an engineering office or approval by the Program Director. Continued education in an associate or bachelor program for secretarial, business, math or English is desired, but not required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence with proper grammar, syntax, spelling and punctuation.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

COMPUTER SKILLS
Familiarity with basic computer operating systems including MS DOS, Windows and networks and able to use basic commands to access and manage files and programs. Knowledge of SAP. Skilled on a generally accepted word processor program accurate at a minimum of 50 wpm, able to create and edit documents in standard format. Basic spreadsheet skills- skilled on a generally accepted spreadsheet program, able to do data entry, output and creation of simple spreadsheets.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may periodically be required to travel to client job-sites, usually heavy industrial (chemical) production facilities and access all areas. Therefore, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and the risk of electric shock. The noise level in work place can be loud to moderate depending on location.
